🧶I wouldn't jump out of a plane for a million bucks!

Hello! Here we are again! Another Friday, another chance to knit all weekend! 🤣 Maybe it’s a long weekend for 4th of July for you? I have to work Friday and Sunday, but you can bet I’m going to make some progress on the bamboo sweater on Saturday!

I got to try a new sewing stitch this week. You know how sometimes when you’re thrifting and you're looking for something specific, you can get so excited when you find it that you forget to inspect it? Just me? 🤪 Well, I was looking for long skirts this spring and I found a great one while thrifting on vacation. Like you do.

I even thought I might wear it on that very vacation. Imagine my surprise when I got back to the hotel and looked a little closer. There was a huge slit cut up the side seam.

Luckily, embellishing clothes is one of my favorite things to do. So is procrastinating. So now that it’s been almost 2 months, I finally did a visible repair on it.

You know I’m not crazy about making things perfect. I had seen this parachute stitch on Pinterest and thought it would look fun. In neon, of course. I didn’t pin it together or put it in a hoop, or anything. The edges were only off by like a quarter inch by the time I got to the bottom. What can I say? I like my stuff to have personality!

I also got the yarn I ordered from the big Knit Picks sale. I’ve never used this yarn, but I bought enough to make a sweater, so I hope it’s better than the bamboo! 🤣 Have you ever used yarn made from ocean plastic? I chose it because of the bright colors. I’m sure it will be fine. 😬🤞🏻

(It’s still in the box! I didn’t even pull it out to take a picture!!! 🤣🤪🤣🤪)

I wrote about my favorite house cardigan this week so of course I had to go searching my photos for a good picture of it. This is Bruno shortly after I adopted him, a little over 2 years ago. He loves the sweater so much. Indy and Vader both loved it, too. You can read about how it came to be right here. Come back and reply to this email and tell me what you think.

Okay, go enjoy your long weekend. Make something fun!!! Thanks for being here!

Hello! How has your week been? My week has been... how should I say it... eventful. 😬 To start with, Bruno had a botfly under his skin! It was disgusting and so sad. And it took some time for the vet to figure out what it was, so lots of cone time. I don't know if you can tell from photos, but Bruno has the neck of a giraffe. We tried a cone that was tiny enough to fit around his neck and he could reach right around it. Then we tried combining a stuffed donut with the little cone. No luck....

Hey there! How are you!?! I’m feeling invigorated this week! I took last week off for a staycation. After a long, lazy summer, I had some housekeeping to do. Fall is my favorite season, and September through December are my busiest/funnest months of the year. I like to head into this time prepared, so I can really enjoy it. Chris and I spent the week cleaning, hanging art, setting up the bones of my art studio, and getting out Halloween decorations. And we topped it off with a concert! We saw...

Hello! Friday again! How was your week? I have one more ear to put on my Cat Hat! Wait ‘til you see what I did. 🫣 When I took it out to finally finish, there were 3 sizes of needles in the project bag. And I, of all people, didn’t have a project sheet in there with the details! But I did remember taking a picture to show you my progress previously. So I got out the picture and all the needles in my project bag, and compared them! It actually worked!!! So then I started picking up the stitches...
