🧶 What happens when you forget to check the pattern

Hello! Another week has flown by! Did you work on anything fun this week?

I started and almost finished my new Cat Hat sample.

As you can see from my margin notes, I missed something right from the start. 🤣🤪 This pattern has a set up row where you add a couple of stitches after the ribbing and I completely forgot them!

I thought to myself “it’s no big deal, I’ll just skip 2 decreases on the first decrease round.” Which I totally remembered to do. 💪🏼

But then when I was placing stitch markers to mark the placement of the ears, I noticed something was off.

Do you see it?

Here’s a hint: count the stripes.

😳😩 I missed a full 10 rounds!

I ripped it back to the last round before the decreases and did it right. But I didn’t go back to the set up round and add the 2 stitches!

It’s important to know just how far you’re willing to go for a project.

I’m sure I’ll have it done to show you by next week. In the meantime, I hope you make time to make something this weekend! (And double check the pattern once in a while! 🤣)

Thanks for being here!

Hello! How has your week been? My week has been... how should I say it... eventful. 😬 To start with, Bruno had a botfly under his skin! It was disgusting and so sad. And it took some time for the vet to figure out what it was, so lots of cone time. I don't know if you can tell from photos, but Bruno has the neck of a giraffe. We tried a cone that was tiny enough to fit around his neck and he could reach right around it. Then we tried combining a stuffed donut with the little cone. No luck....

Hey there! How are you!?! I’m feeling invigorated this week! I took last week off for a staycation. After a long, lazy summer, I had some housekeeping to do. Fall is my favorite season, and September through December are my busiest/funnest months of the year. I like to head into this time prepared, so I can really enjoy it. Chris and I spent the week cleaning, hanging art, setting up the bones of my art studio, and getting out Halloween decorations. And we topped it off with a concert! We saw...

Hello! Friday again! How was your week? I have one more ear to put on my Cat Hat! Wait ‘til you see what I did. 🫣 When I took it out to finally finish, there were 3 sizes of needles in the project bag. And I, of all people, didn’t have a project sheet in there with the details! But I did remember taking a picture to show you my progress previously. So I got out the picture and all the needles in my project bag, and compared them! It actually worked!!! So then I started picking up the stitches...
