Hello! How is it already Friday again!?! This week has been a whirlwind! My third kid graduated high school, my in-laws came to town to celebrate, and we went to a book signing that was a four-hour round trip in a day. It’s been wild! I did find a little time to work on the mesh sweater that is never going to be. I can’t express how terrible this yarn is to work with. If you have an idea for what I can make with splitty bamboo yarn, that won’t cause me to quit crafting altogether, please reply and save me!!!! I really want to make something to wear because it matches my hair so well. My mom let me take some beads home and I’ve been practicing making a knotted necklace with them. Bruno isn’t thrilled because his favorite spot is my lap. He doesn’t always blend well with learning a new skill. I’m curious what kind of lessons you’ve taken away from your crafting. When you reply with splitty bamboo ideas, throw some wisdom in there for me, too! I’ll talk to you next week! Thanks for being here! Hey there! How has your week been? I’m feeling so much lighter this week. I finally did it. I broke up with the bamboo yarn for good. I’m so much happier. Now that I’m free to start something I actually want to make, I’m going to start a new sample of my Cat Hat. It’s due for a refresh in a different yarn. My plan is to use some leftover Germantown worsted that I have on hand. I’ll let you know how it goes next week. If you missed it last week, I made a new free resource for you. It’s called...
Hey there! How have you been? I hope you're getting more knitting done than I am! 🤣🤪 I'm just going to blame it on summer! I did do a different creative thing, though. I made you something! It's called The Rule Breaker's Permission Slip and Finishing Matrix. And it also has a Frog Log inside! My favorite part is the Finishing Matrix. It's a tool to help you decide just how much effort you should put into weaving ends, blocking, etc. for any particular project. You know I like to cut corners...
Hello, how are you!?! Are you working on anything fun? I’d love to hear about it. Send pics! I finally finished the front (or back) of the bamboo mesh sweater. I think I’m just going to make it sleeveless so I can be done with it sooner. I’ve tried so many different things with this bamboo yarn. I’m never going to like it. I’ll either use the rest on something like fringe or tassels, or I’ll give it to one of my kids who crochet. At least I know I gave it a fair shot before breaking up with...
