🧶 This is my second-to-last email 🧶

Hello!

How are you? I’m making slow but steady progress on my love/hate cardigan. I seriously can't wait to wear this thing!

Bruno approves!

Now onto the big news. I wasn’t kidding in that subject line.

I’m done trying to monetize my knitting.

I’ve been thinking about this for a long time, and the other day I had this feeling of knowing come over me. It’s time to let it go. ❄️

I added my first patterns to Ravelry over 14 years ago. At the time I had 3 small kids and I was looking for something I could do to earn money from home.

Over the years, I’ve put in more and less effort. It always felt like I should stick with it because I’d already put in so much work.

Now I have 3 young adults, 2 big kids, and a part-time job. The sun is setting on my knitting biz.

I’m not disappearing completely!

🧶 I’ll still be here, knitting like crazy with Bruno on my lap!

🧶 I’ll still be writing patterns for myself.

🧶 I’m leaving my patterns for sale on Ravelry because I have some pretty cool stuff that knitters need to knit! 🤣🤪

🧶 I’ll even leave my most popular patterns on Etsy.

🧶 I will always help customers who email me for help with one of my patterns.

June will be the last month for Merry Mail.

I’ll send them out mid-month, as usual. I am truly grateful for all my Merry Mail subscribers. 💖

I’ll email you one more time when I start something new.

I do still dream of working for myself, using my creativity. And I’ve got some ideas brewing. Once I have it figured out, I’ll let you know in case it ends up being something you’re interested in.

I hope you have a great summer! Thank you so much for letting me in your inbox all this time! 💖🥰

P.S. I love all my friends who reply. Please feel free to keep the conversation going!

P.P.S. I have almost all the supplies to make cute notions tins (with the notions!), so I’ll go ahead and finish that project. Be sure and favorite my Etsy shop so you can see them when I list them!

Hello! How has your week been? My week has been... how should I say it... eventful. 😬 To start with, Bruno had a botfly under his skin! It was disgusting and so sad. And it took some time for the vet to figure out what it was, so lots of cone time. I don't know if you can tell from photos, but Bruno has the neck of a giraffe. We tried a cone that was tiny enough to fit around his neck and he could reach right around it. Then we tried combining a stuffed donut with the little cone. No luck....

Hey there! How are you!?! I’m feeling invigorated this week! I took last week off for a staycation. After a long, lazy summer, I had some housekeeping to do. Fall is my favorite season, and September through December are my busiest/funnest months of the year. I like to head into this time prepared, so I can really enjoy it. Chris and I spent the week cleaning, hanging art, setting up the bones of my art studio, and getting out Halloween decorations. And we topped it off with a concert! We saw...

Hello! Friday again! How was your week? I have one more ear to put on my Cat Hat! Wait ‘til you see what I did. 🫣 When I took it out to finally finish, there were 3 sizes of needles in the project bag. And I, of all people, didn’t have a project sheet in there with the details! But I did remember taking a picture to show you my progress previously. So I got out the picture and all the needles in my project bag, and compared them! It actually worked!!! So then I started picking up the stitches...
