Managed to mess up the easy projects!

Hello! I’m back from Hawaii. Remember how I was bringing yarn to knit some plain squares? Multipurpose squares like bandanas. Well, I managed to finish one, mess one up, and not even start the third one. Here’s what I came home with:

I finished the green one. It was almost done, already. I did an i-cord bind off and am quite happy with it.

Once I finished the green one, I thought I’d switch and use that needle in the pink square, since I liked the needle better. Well, I must have been in vacation mode, because I didn’t notice that it was TWO SIZES BIGGER!!!! I worked on it for a while before I noticed. 😩 So now it’s in time out until I’m ready to frog it.

As for the third square, the bamboo yarn was too slick and splitty for me to get it started. I decided to make a ribbon to tie around my ponytail instead. 🤣🤪

I don’t mind trial and error in my knitting at all. I never feel like it’s wasted time. But I hate when I make an avoidable mistake, like switching to the wrong needle size or picking up a project and forgetting where I left off. That’s why I started making project tracking sheets to keep with each project. They have definitely helped me keep better track of what I’m doing. I can’t think of anything that would have kept me from switching to that size 6 circular halfway through a size 4 project! 🤪

The next thing I want to make myself is a record of all my measurements so everything I make myself actually fits.

Here’s a few of my favorite pics from Hawaii!

What is the silliest mistake you’ve ever made in a knitting project? Reply and tell me about it. I love to know I’m not the only one!

Thanks for being here- see you next week!

Hello! How has your week been? My week has been... how should I say it... eventful. 😬 To start with, Bruno had a botfly under his skin! It was disgusting and so sad. And it took some time for the vet to figure out what it was, so lots of cone time. I don't know if you can tell from photos, but Bruno has the neck of a giraffe. We tried a cone that was tiny enough to fit around his neck and he could reach right around it. Then we tried combining a stuffed donut with the little cone. No luck....

Hey there! How are you!?! I’m feeling invigorated this week! I took last week off for a staycation. After a long, lazy summer, I had some housekeeping to do. Fall is my favorite season, and September through December are my busiest/funnest months of the year. I like to head into this time prepared, so I can really enjoy it. Chris and I spent the week cleaning, hanging art, setting up the bones of my art studio, and getting out Halloween decorations. And we topped it off with a concert! We saw...

Hello! Friday again! How was your week? I have one more ear to put on my Cat Hat! Wait ‘til you see what I did. 🫣 When I took it out to finally finish, there were 3 sizes of needles in the project bag. And I, of all people, didn’t have a project sheet in there with the details! But I did remember taking a picture to show you my progress previously. So I got out the picture and all the needles in my project bag, and compared them! It actually worked!!! So then I started picking up the stitches...
